C’mon Mehdi,
I see the almighty dollar is starting to work its way into Strong lifts slow nd steady. First charging for memberships, now pushing books? What’s next? Plenty of other FREE training sites with more info backed with science… not bro science either.
thanks for posting this and especially the transcript…..EXCELLENT
Brett, long before Gold membership became paid, the site was supported through affiliation marketing. Mehdi pushing a book (actually a paid video series) is nothing new. I’ve taken a look at the video series. It’s a pretty solid analysis of common shoulder injuries and gives a good, evidence-based set of practices for building healthy shoulders. Most of the recommendations are not things I’ve ever seen said on free training websites, and the science he is citing is accurate, not bro science.
I am sensing some corporate incentive slowly creeping into stronglifts. My faith is slowly diminishing with the more I see these incentives. Don’t get me wrong, Medhi has helped me an awful lot & paying for the inner circle membership is nothing I won’t hesitate doing, but I see a little habit creeping.
I shall wait and see when I should draw the line. Thanks anyway
how dare Mehdi run his website and business how he chooses! this is unacceptable! #Brett
I found this pretty hard to follow. The guy is terrible at explaining himself, but my doctor also suggested the vertical hanging stretch between every set.
All I’m saying is that the layout of these threads are the same layout as sites that bait you in and then at the very, very end BAM! “For just 19.99 you can get the answers we’ve been skirting around for this whole article!”
I just experienced this yesterday looking for different methods in helping golfer’s (inner) elbow pain.
BTW… Foam rolling has been nothing short of a miracle taking away pain and tightness while doing SL.
@brett if you don’t like what’s here, move on or quit complaining. Web hosting and maintaining a website is not free and takes time to provide content. The basic program here is free. I’ll tell you what, you work for free and see how long you can survive.
@GadzaGadza you too! Go away, or quit complaining.
I bought it. There are 3 upsell videos after your initial purchase.
There are 7 videos to the series:
Component 1 — 13:03 min
Component 2 — 23:20 min
Component 3 — 14:31 min
Component 4 P1 — 16:18 min
Component 4 P2 — 21:22 min
Component 4 P3 — 49:42 min
Component 5 — 18:55 min
(All videos can be downloaded as mp4, flash (why??) and “iphone”. All @ 640 resolution, video/audio are good)
There are 2 PDFs
PDF 1 has 126 pages, lots of photos
PDF 2 has 51 pages
The last few pages of the 2cd PDF are ads for his other products.
The “Bench Press Explosion” is 1 PDF and 1 video.
The video is roughly 25:45 min.
The PDF is 78 pages.
I hope this helps. The only confusion I had was how I am going to get Mehdi’s overhead press video. I used his link from this page but have not received an email with anything regarding that.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with people expressing their opinion. The fact is that the emails are becoming more mercantile.
@John
The question I have, is do you think you got value for money and is it worth getting. Also how much were the upsell videos – bit annoyed there’s no mention of this in the ads, as it’s billed as being the complete package which seems a tad cheeky if it’s not.
For those wondering how to claim the bonus video, Mehdi sent out an email a couple of days ago with the link:
https://app.getresponse.com/click.html?x=a62b&lc=BJYoE&mc=BF&s=VPbd5&y=g&
You’ll need the ClickBank reference number, which you’ll have been sent in an email.
@Julian
The upsell videos were skip-able. Mildly perturbing at most.
The production quality and polish of the presentations leave a lot to be desired. The camera is fixed, probably a tripod, the presentation is full of powerpoint and redundancy. The lighting is sufficient. The location is always in a classroom. It appears this guy did this on one Saturday afternoon in a community college classroom.
Having said that, I have been to a PT and Orthopedic surgeon, and some of the simple things Rick has shared have already been helpful. For me $20 may end up being worth the while.
One last thing, you mentioned “being billed as complete package” and then some concern from the up-sell. Let me put that to rest. It is the complete package. It is all that Mehdi has said it is. The upsells are from the host provider of the videos on sort of the “next steps”, assuming your time with Rick goes well, where would one go from there? Well, they just happen to have another course “for a one time offer” bla bla bla.
