I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Can you up my stats to 225lbs. Thanks.

I changed my routine from 5X5 with the same weight to a staggered 5X5. I genrally start @ 180lbs then increase the weight each set, I find I am able to handle more weight on the 4th and 5th set.

Cheers,

bilpo

Okay that is not allowed. This is "Can you do 5x5 with 1.5 times your bodyweight" NOT can you do 180 for three sets and then 225 for your last two. Shenanigans.

Also I have a problem with the fact that the #1 guy started off at %80, but whatever.

Hi

First of all 180lbs is only for my first set (it's called a warm up set) Then Set 2 is 205lbs then 215 then 220 then whatever I decide to push myself to do. I just did 233lbs last night. The 180lbs on the first set will always remain the same but sets 2-5 will be increasing as I get stronger.

I changed my routine on the squat because I was stalling with using the same weight for all 5X5's. You can't keep doing the same thing and expect different results once you have reached a plateau.

I think starting at 80% is just fine. You want to be realistic in what you can acheive. I can't say don't care if I win or lose, but I am mostly using this competion as motivation to do better and lift more for myself.

Cheers,

bilpo

Hey JCraig,

Can you up my stats to 233lbs. My gains are starting to slow but hopefully I'll still be able to see gains on a weekly basis.

Thanks again,

... I know, sorry about that I thought this was the 5x5 contest that I had started, before Jcraig took over. I see that now the contest is how much weight you can do 1x5. I will continue to do my 5x5 program, however. good job on the strength gains bilpo, keep it up!
