I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Let's compare ...
We start from the statement that most people here should be able to achieve comparable results (relatively speaking) given time, dedication and effort.
My current BW is 86kg. My max squat (last time I tested, I am sure I can do more now) is 155kg.
That's 1.8x BW.

You weigh 60kg.
1.8 x 60= 108kg.

I am not even a year in the program and I have a louse average of less then 1.5 sessions a week.
Given those conditions, if I can do this, you can reach 100kg too.

BTW I am aiming for 2xBW by end of the year. I am convinced I can make it.

I am so glad that I saw this post. I have had to reset after discovering my form was not proper. Every new squat weight feels so damn tough and I am only 75% of bw. I've been on SL since June and by June 2010 I better be beyond 1.5x bw. I cant wait to see what I will look like and what my stats will be.

100kg is 220lbs? Barring anything weird I will be joining you guys on Monday evening. Not as impressive as you guys since I have 240bw, but a milestone nonetheless.

You're welcome ;)
Bear in mind during my journey I had to deload twice due to injuries.
One was a left-over from sometime of 10 years ago (scar tissue on right quadriceps). Lost almost 2 months because of that
The other was one was a pulled groin, the deload there was not that dramatic.

But again, dedication and effort is what is needed.
You only get out of it what you put in ;)

I am officialy in the 100kg club! After two failed sessions at this weight I was one rep away from a deload. I guess that was all the motivation I needed. I've been waiting to join for a long time now.

It certainly feels good to reach a goal. :)

Yeehaw! Completed 100 Kg 5x5 first try this evening. Everything felt real good and by the third set I knew was going to get all 5 sets. I was especially suprised since it took me 2 workouts to get 205 lbs, 2 workouts to get 5x5 at 210 lbs, and 3 workouts to get 215 lbs. I did do a pre-load and hold with 255 lbs twice for about 10-15 seconds each time and it really seemed to make the 220 lbs feel much lighter.

Hi,

Has anyone joined the 100kg club only to have to leave it again??

I was at 87.5kg, then fasted for a month, during which time I managed to work up to 100kg 3x5.

However, in the last 2 weeks of the fast (dawn-dusk), I just didn't have the energy to train and slacked massively.

After the month, I got back into routine and at first did a terrible 100kg workout, with most sets failed.
Next workout, I managed 5x5 100kg, but all above parallel.

I thought my next workout would be 5x5 below parallel, but I ending up failing miserably at about 2 reps, then even 90kg felt heavy. It just felt too heavy for some reason, so I decided to deload.

I just did 5x5 with 90kg and it was very hard with bad form!!, even though i've previously managed 100kg with good form.

As it stands, I'm gonna stick with the deload and work up from 90kg, but I'm just totally confused as to how I could fall back so far again??

-------

BTW, as a side note - I just went to this new gym and saw a guy squatting 220kg!!!!!! He was well above parallel, but still!!!!!!
