I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Well I would love to squat 405lbs but I don't think that is possible right now, although would anyone like to race to 2Xbw???

I don't know how long this will take but anyone up for the challenge?

I'm currently putting up 1.5XBw the last time i maxed which was a week ago so anyone in for the challenge?

I would, but at 230lbs it would be way more than practical to make it a goal right now. Getting to 405 will be challenging enough. I think 460 is just a bit out of reality for right now. But good challenge and I'll be watching with great anticipation to see how it goes.

2xBW for 5 reps?

I'm going to see what my doctor says about my knee. If it isn't serious and I only need rest, I'll be in for both challenges when I'm back to lifting again. 300lbs would be more than 2xBW for me. 405lbs would be huge for me. Never lifted over 400lbs in my life.

I'll be in it if you allow the use of a belt, got some lower back issues and never squat more than 100kg without it. Using a belt is still considered raw in most powerlifting comps.

Question- How do we go about this? Say we are on SS or Texas method currently, do we bust out the challenge when we feel we're ready or do we have a set date for all of us do the challenge together?

Alright should be good fun, Yeah I won't use a belt either.

I gotta put 20lbs on my squat each month so it's do able!

Write your current body-weight/max squat, I'll add it at the top.

Been thinking about doing a quick smolov base mesocycle, the shoulder injury is somewhat holding me back to do it.

BTE, if your BW increases, your target RM weight does too. You will need to measure your BW whenever you are close to target.

If it's ok if i use a belt count me in too. My bodyweight is the same as mehdi, about 73-75kg, fluctuates a bit. Current 1 RPM on the squat is 115kg although i just did 110kg 5x5 so i think it might be a bit higher now. Will be proceding with caution, i'm in this for the fun of the challenge not because i think i'll actually win.. I seem to be pretty good at injuring myself  .

Seems that people have quite a bit to go before reaching 2xBW.

I'll definitely join in once I get the green light for me knee. This was the last top squat set I did, i.e. before I got my ass whooped by the dog: 3x 280lbs, BW 147lbs. I am very tempted by the 405lbs lift. Only thing that may stop me is that too much dedicated max effort lifts would hurt my dynamic training. But 405lbs would be an all-time PR for me.
