I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Great going Mouse and Rob. Fantastic effort!

Is this going to be the fastest challenge in the history of challenges?

I'm hoping that once these DL monsters have done their thing, others will have improved enough to join me in the lower ranges! :D Viva the 200kg Deadlift Challenge!

Re: 200kg deadlift

Sorry guys ...

After warming up for my scheduled Coan/Phillipi session, I decided at 140kg to let all hell break loose.
I chalked my hands, put 200kg on the bar and started watching the bar from aside. A looong time ... focusing.

Some people noticed me and I saw them talking to each other.
I stepped forward, made sure to position my shoes correctly (the second top lace just under the bar).
Then I bend over and grabbed the bar, left hand overhand, right hand reversed.
Squeezed the bar, lowered the hips, flexed the back and up ... up ... up it went.

I was screaming "YEEESSSSSSS".
A moment of silence as I noticed people watching me.
I lowered the bar and said another "Yes" silently.

I continued the Coan/Phillipi routine (not sure why) but I can tell you it was HARD HARD HARD.
3x3 160kg was HEAVY like shit.
Even 130kg 3x3 speed deadlift was making me curse.
But I am happy.
Oh yes 8)

The only regret I have is for not having been able to film it.
I promise to do so once I got my home set-up (end of august / early september).

Next goal: 500lbs by end of the year (which is BTW more or less my 2009-goal)

Strike that. Goal is 2.5xBW which translates to 215kg (currently 86kg BW) ... I think I am going for the 500lbs anyhow
We'll see.
