I broke my big toe this weekend in a really unlucky sparring accident (i do muay thai) been to the hospital, there is a small fracture along the joint in the toe but hopefully it should heal well i just need to keep it as straight as possible.
obviously i didnt let that stop me going to the gym today as im fine standing and talking weight as long as it doesnt go through my toes and im not gonna loose however many weeks of leg work
however i ended up failing on my squats on my 2nd set when i knew my muscles had it in me to make the 5x5 because my toes were instinctively curling (or rather my body was trying to curl them and i was trying not to and it was hurting quite a bit) as it became a bit more of an effort and it ruined the set. and this happening on the other lifts as well because it curling my toes, although never realising, is something i do when i need to put some effort in.
anyone else had this problem and got any advice or tips etc? does it matter if i do/do not curl my toes in a squat etc? and what about the deadlift?
