I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I thought I would start a thread to share recipes specifically for everyone on the anabolic diet!
So, here's my first recipe, its fast and tastes amazing :)
The Anti-Taco
8-12oz Ground Beef (80/20)
1/4 cup chopped Onion
2 Avocado's mixed with Guacamole mix
1 Tbsp Sour Cream
1/4 cup Taco Sauce
1 cup Shredded Cheese
This recipe is so easy anyone can do it, plus its loaded with good fat from the avocado and protein from the beef.  First brown the beef in a skillet (drain if you like). while you do this take the two avocados and mash them up with the guacamole mix, set aside. then take the beef and pile in the center of a plate. then place (in any order you like) the cheese, sauce, onion, guacamole, and sour cream. You can decrease/increase any of the ingrediants as you wish or add other non-carb items to the mix. Thats it, eat with a fork!
These numbers aren't exact but close.

I will write my tuna recipe, I have posted it before but here it is
One can tuna
Drain and mix with one egg.
Add any or none of the following, diced onions, cilantro, seasonings.
Fry on one side like a hamburger patti, flip over, it may fall apart but that is ok, top with sliced cheese and let it melt. Delicious!

yeah, you can cook the onion with the beef if you like. it is a lot of calories but I sometimes have to load up at dinner because Its so hard for me to hit my 3000 calorie mark each day.

@ Woo, yep the egg sort of holds it all together. I vary it by adding salsa or sometimes pepper jack cheese, anything to get variety.

Elisa - ever tried that with 2 eggs mixed with 1 can tuna or is that too sloppy?

Mouse, it depends upon the tuna, the "light" tuna has more water and thus sloppier, the "white" tuna is drier and sometimes if you are going for calories you could use some mayo or something to give it more moisture. I tastes good no matter what I do.

Bumblee bee also has Wild Salmon which is good.  It is a little pricier, but is supposed to be better for you than tuna.
If you get canned i would suggest the Pink skinless and boneless variety.  They also have it in a pouch at my local Stop & Shop which I prefer.  Really convienient, just add a little mayo, and you are good to go with a little over 40 grams of protein.
Nutrition facts
There are 3 "servings" in a pouch, but I usually end up finishing the whole thing...

AD Tuna Salad:

Tuna in oliveoil 100g: 186cal: 8g fat, 26 protein
Cottage cheese 100g: 72cal: 3carb, 1g fat, 13protein
2large hardboiled egg: 154cal: 10.6fat, 12.4pro

412cal, 3g carbs, 18.6g fat, 51.4g protein

Slice the egg into slithers then cut again the other way. Cottage cheese first, then dump the rest in and mix through. Don't bother draining the olive oil, you know you love it.

You can add more tuna or eggs for more calories if you like. I find 200g tuna very easy to eat in this recipe. Boiled spinach also goes well in here, although will add another 3.5carbs per half cup for not much (20) extra calories.
