I live in Canada and after watching Obama's speech on TV, i felt truley inspired. I also felt safe that USA wasnt going to bomb Canada within the next 8 years which is a big relief lol.

Hahaha, those sneakers. Ron Paul is a legend among men.

No difference between McCain and Obama in my eyes. So, no, no excitement from me.

I'm not too excited. The day a third party candidate wins the presidency again, I will know that the media has begun to do it's job once more.

Obama should be a good president.

Ron Paul joke was admirable.. He's a great man, certainly. He spoke so much truth in the presidential campaign. He wasn't elected, sadly.

I'm excited for someone who isn't Bush, and for someone who isn't associated with Sarah Palin. I'm not excited for socialized healthcare and a bunch of other crap, but who knows what will actually happen. I find it incredibly hard to get excited over politics when there are only two parties to actually choose a candidate from.

I don't know why everyone hates Palin so much. IMO, she is much less loathsome than McCain, Obama or Biden or 90% of Congress for that matter. (Excluding Ron Paul and John Duncan of course).

There aren't only two parties! That's just an illusion. On the Washington state ballot, there existed 8 candidates, including Rep. and Dem. That was two different Socialist parties, The Green Party, Independent, Libertarian, and the Constitutional Party. You can choose from more! But the only way the other parties are going to have an affect in the system, is for "Grassroots" movement as they say. Because clearly the media does not want to cover the other parties. As well the election laws are seemingly stipulated specifically against the third parties.

The point is that the other options exist, but they SEEM so pointless and defeated, that it is difficult for most voters to justify voting for them, which is exactly what the two main parties wish for.

Thanks for the update. I didn't know there were that many parties. I knew of some, but not all of them, are there even more? One thing I've been wondering about. When I was watching a map of the electoral states, I saw that there were voted for another candidate on election day, can this be? I think it said Barr, next to McCain and Obama in North Carolina or something. You Americans speak up, answer!

If you want an European's point of view; I really didn't sweat it that much. I always thought McCain would win. I didn't say I hoped, but it could be nice if the new president could wrap the wars up. I don't seriously think Obama can wage what's left of the two wars to the happy ending the World needs.
