I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Stats: Male, 18 years old, 5'9" = 175 cm., 155 lbs. = 70.3 kg (approximately, I don't have regular access to a scale at college)

Current lifts: (All 5x5)
Squats: 235 lbs. = 106.6 kg
Bench: 160 lbs. = 72.6 kg
Rows: 120 lbs. = 54.4 kg
Overhead Press: 115 lbs. = 52.2 kg
Deadlift: 235 lbs. = 106.6 kg

Pullups: Last time I got 10 on the first set, then 6 chinups, then 4 neutral grip

Goals: I am approaching the end of soccer season, which always complicates training. We have practice every weeknight and games on the weekends, so I am never able to get the rest and recovery I feel like I need. The season only lasts three more weeks, and after it is over I plan on shifting my focus fully to lifting. I would like to improve all of my lifts by approximately 25%. This would put me at:
Squats - 300 lbs.
Bench - 200 lbs.
Rows - 150 lbs.
Overhead Press - 145 lbs.
Deadlift - 300 lbs.

I would like to do this within 3-4 months time. Does this seem realistic?

Background: I had done split routines inconsistently since I began high school, unitl I began Stronglifts 5x5 approximately a year ago, and made big gains. I was eventually forced to quit when conditioning for high school soccer started. I tried to do SL 5x5 in the mornings before school and go to conditioning after school but my body simply couldn't take it. I began getting exhausted, sick, etc., so I dropped Stronglifts. I picked it back up over the summer, but once again fell off with the start of my first semester of college and the beginning of soccer season. I started back on 5x5 about one month ago, and I have worked my way back up to the weights that I was lifting during the summer except in my bench, which is still stuck at 160. (I lifted 165 5x5 during the summer) My squats and deadlifts are actually both 10 lbs. heavier than my previous best during the summer. I have made good progress since being back on Stronglifts, but the combination of lifting and soccer practice and games have left me pretty exhausted, especially my legs. I am looking forward to the end of the season so that I can concentrate fully on lifting. I am wondering if and when I should switch over to the advanced routine. My Squat is over 1.5x my body weight for 5x5, but squats are the one exercise that I have not yet stalled on. I was planning on continuing what I have been doing until I stall on squats. Is this a good idea?

I missed training on Friday because of a soccer game, and I would have gone on Saturday but my gym was closed all day. I started fresh for the week on Monday. I squatted 240 lbs. 5x5, but not without a lot of pain in my right wrist. I did some reading on the forums and I think that the problem is my supporting the bar with my hands instead of my upper back. I stalled at 115 on OHP last week, but yesterday I completed 5x5 for 115 lbs. On deadlifts I did 245 lbs., but I'm a little concerned with my technique. I know my lower back was not rounded, but I also don't think I had the same arch that I am normally able to maintain on the way up. I am at the highest weights I have ever been for squats and deadlifts and I am very sore today, especially my back. I feel like I'm very close to stalling on both squats and deadlifts for the first time since starting SL 5x5. I have been stuck at 160 on bench for my last three workouts. I would really like to complete 160 5x5 on bench tomorrow, but if I don't I will drop to 155 next workout.
