I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

5 reps at 415 - great lifting - I bet you'd not be too far off 500 for a single now.

Good suggestion H. I actually do each rep as it's own lift so I can change my grip then.

8/13

OHP: Did these first tonight. 5*185 PR. It wasn't pretty but they went up. I'll test my 1RM in the next couple of weeks.

Dips: 74 total. I got 24 the first set. After that I don't know as I simply counted up from the last set and did as many as I could. I literally failed on a couple of sets on the "up" portion. Tough. I have to get 26 more which I'm not looking forward to at all.

Calves: Did the routine I posted earlier. 10 reps in the smith machine then 30 jumps with a BB on my back. I put 25 lb plates on there this time. Next time I'll use 35's. This is a tough workout and my calves feel worked. It's also not a terrible cardio session.

I skipped tabata as I had to pick up Holden from the baby sitter. I did some stretching though.

Good workout even though it was really short.

Nice job James. That's quite a workout for being short on time. 74 dips. Sweet. 8)

That's not 74 in a row so don't be that impressed...lol. This took me a few sets to get through.

74 dips in sets is ... well, masochistic. Ugh! Congrats on the OHP PR.

How are the calves feeling?

You know what? The calves are fine. I need to up the weight a bit. I've been working them all along so they're actually pretty strong. Just small.

8/14 Friday

Squats: Worked to 3*325 then a set of 8@235. These were good.

Bench: Worked to 3*265 then 8*185. I used the flat bench and I hated it. I'm used to the power rack now where I can adjust everything for me. I'm not going to use the flat bench any more.

Row: Worked to 3*235 then 8*165. Decent set.

GHR. I did these with some counter weight to assist me. I was in the lat pull down and I used the tricep ropes to hold on with. I put on 70lbs and it was still hard to come up with. The trouble with that much weight is that it's also hard to let yourself down with. I need to figure this one out.

Chin up. 30. I did chin ups and my shoulder felt fine. I did one set of pull ups and my shoulder hurt. Go figure.

Leg curls. I'm still doing these until I can crack the code on GHR's completely.

nice workout -- I'm super jealous of the rows...I just might have to start doing those so I can stop feeling sorry for myself when I read your log!

Congrats on the OHP PR.
Wow 30 chin ups. That's a lot of chins. What's your max on chin ups/pull ups?

Somehow I believe there is a direct correlation between the amount of chins and the weight used on the rows.
Not ?

;)

Awesome weight, James. Will be some time before I ever get there...
