I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Great graph james. I'm likewise in a place right now where I need some recovery, but it is the end of the novice rather than intermediate program! I hope I can catch your lifts this year 8)

Great write-up, James and much appreciated. I echo lionize -- your DL progress is impressive. Having just pulled 405 for the first time, I'm humbled by your DL.

I'd also like to echo PG -- your log has been an inspiration to me and your advice/encouragement in my own log has been invaluable along my own journey. Blogging my workouts and reading others' has been the best thing for my progress since I started lifting some 13-14 years ago.

Enjoy the vacation, if you attack the rest of your life as hard as you attack the gym, I'm sure you're ready for it!

Hi James,

Just catching up on your log...

I enjoyed your summary of Madcow along with the graph. The info certainly helps me, as I'm only into the 5th week myself so it gives me a lot of insight. Not to mention that reading how others deal with setbacks (injuries, deloads, etc) and succeeding as you have, is always good motivation.

Hope you have a great vacation.

Echoing what others have said - it's also the consistency and thoughtfulness you put into your log which make it such a good read (even for those of us who are total beginners at this.) So thanks! And enjoy the rest time.

James,

I enjoyed reading your summary. And as a dorky accountant...loved the graph! Can't thank you enough for all your suggestions and encouragement. Your words are very helpful when I am frustrated w/my own training.

Enjoy your time off and I look forward to reading about the next cycle of your training.

Thanks James for helping me realize that I can push myself to do even more.
He's going to get better results than you. Why? Because you go through the motions of training with all the intensity of a fat guy channell surfing, and He leaves blood on the barbell.
