I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Yea, he broke the world record with 1075lbs @ 308lbs. Not even in the SHW class.

Damn!!
That is very impressive. I wonder how far the limits are with human strength?
I take my hat off to him.

lol yea you'd think that's SHW, but the weight classes above 100kg go like this:

100kg (220lbs)
110kg (242lbs)
125kg (275lbs)
140kg (308lbs)
140kg+

So apparently there are some huge guys out there! In olympic-style weightlifting, the SHW class is 105kg+.

Is that above video from the IPF worlds? That looked really easy for a world record hah.

Impressive, but how much did the suit lift, and how much the man?
Weightlifting should be about the person lifting the weight, nothing else.

140kg pretty much seems to be the last one on there, so it kinda is SHW.

No, the 140kg class means that the maximum one can weigh is 140kg. In the SHW class there is no weight limit, and some guys weigh more than 350lbs.

That WR is pretty amazing, that many times his own BW, he goes nice and deep for a PL squat too, narrow stance.

Never seen a shirt with those 'hooks' on it before, what is the point? Hold the bar in place?

i prefer lifts in the raw. wrapped knees i can understand but the bench shirts and squat suits just ruin it. Kinda like top fuel dragsters are impressive but i'd much rather have a streetable car to go really fast. Catch my drift?

I don't agree i think bench shirts et al are just there to make us as humans lift more weight and break more records in the future.
Remember most of these guys are very stong anyway, and i am sure they all want to go home after the meet in one piece.

Bench shirt, squat suits rock.
