I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Best Body Fat Calipers?

What are the best body fat calipers to buy? I know there are a few different kinds out there: some with multiple skin folds, some you can do yourself, etc.

Which are the best?

The best if you have $450.00 are the Skyndex calipers.

What about a more "reasonable" price range?

Haha ok you got me there.

How about a decent set of calipers that will do the job and are not terribly inaccurate. :)

I suggest a bio-impedence (Omron) hand held device. Goes for $49.99 online. I'll take the accuracy of that over a novice trying to clip their own skinfolds. But thats me...

I used one of these Omron electronic ones at the gym the other day:

http://www.amazon.com/Omron-HBF-306-Bod ... 444&sr=8-2

Gave a pretty easy and fast reading. Don't know what the difference is between these two models on Amazon (the C model might be newer). Price is certainly right. Here's the user manual from Omron: http://www.omronhealthcare.com/img/shop ... 936-5c.pdf
