    I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. :lol: But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Any tips for losing fat quickly?

I'm currently 14% bodyfat, which isn't too bad but I'd like to get down to the 10%-12% mark by the time my holiday comes round on 1st September.

I'm thinking about doing the Atkins Induction, which lasts two weeks. Anyone tried it? Any success?

Eat often. Eat whole foods. Eat starchy carbs post-workout only. This seems to be the general consensus.

Cool, cheers. I'd read some good things about the atkins induction on T-Nation.com but I reckon it might cause too much muscle loss. If I can lose 2%-3% BF within a month this way then that's good enough for me.

If you're familiar with t-nation, and have the money, follow the v-diet. If you follow it to the letter, guaranteed you'll reach your goal by September 1 without losing much, if any, muscle in the process. I did the v-diet (only the first 4 weeks) and lost a ton of fat (went from a size 36 to a size 32 pant) and only dropped a couple pounds of actual body weight.

Did you spend 500 bucks in supplements?

Yep. But how much do you spend on food over the course of a month? I spend about 500 - 600, which is exactly what I spent for the v-diet -- not to mention the money I saved not buying snacks at the movies, beer, etc. So, in reality, a month on the v-diet was cheaper than a month eating normally.

The south beach diet worked for me. Its all about eating clean. First two weeks are the hardest but it gets better. It got me off beer and bread so I guess it was a good thing.

@JasonLB
Don't realy have the £'s for the V-Diet, spent it all on my holiday :) It's a bit too radical as well, although it undoubtedly works. My girlfriend would think it's another one of my mad ideas. She even thought the atkins diet was extreme!

@JCedolia
Not really heard much about the South Beach Diet. Also not sure if I want to give up beer! It's too much of a culture here in Scotland :)

@DaveT
I think this is the way I'm going to go. My diet is semi-clean at the minute, although I eat a lot of bread, so the shift shouldn't be too difficult. Instead of steady cardio I'm gonna add some endurance work, probably hindu squats every morning.

Cheers!

Jiggy the beer is just for 2 weeks and then you can back on it. I just found out once I stopped it was easy I just drink pure grain now when I do drink.

The Get Shredded Diet. You'll need to sign up for a free membership a the Precision Nutrition website. It suggests starting at a steady 12% body fat, and is fairly intense from what I can tell.
