    I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. :lol: But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Hi

A little more on yesterdays session. Jeez it was a good'un. at three o clock I had a banana and some skyr (http://www.skyr.com) which is one hell of a dairy product. Then at around four I rode my bike to the gym, not expecting much since last session was really hard and my back had been bugging me a little and my PT had told me to not increase weight on my squats while I balance out my quad strength (knee injury).

I felt good after warmup so I said what the hell and added the 2.5 kgs anyway. Boy did that shit fly. I'm guessing its the meal and better sleep the night before. I was on fire. I also 5x5ed 70 kgs on the bench which is a PR.

My body is changing. I eat like a grinder and train stronglifts 5x5 three times a week. I am slowly gaining weight, which is really hard for me since my mind wants me to loose weight (my self image says I'm fat). Plus my clothes are getting smaller, my tees are starting to stretch over my arms and sholders and none of my shortsleevs shirts fit properly over my guns.

I am focusing on getting stronger. I will reach 5x5x1,5x bodyweight sometime this year and then, and only then I will start burning away the extra fat (if there is any left). This I will do by swimming, biking and doing the fatloss weightlifting program in "The new rules of lifting" for men.

I notice ppl at the gym noticing me. I really AM the guy who shows up three times a week and starts every session by sqatting. I am doing 87.5 kgs 5x5 (good form i belive) by now and thats more than 90 % of the others are doing. I still haven't seen anybody who's not on 5x5 do proper squats at my gym. I've seen plenty of guys doing quarter squats and squats in the smith machine. I also see guys (sometimes huge guys) come in and do nothing but bench, pectorial flys and tons of other variations of redundant chest workouts. I pity the fools ;).

My progress hasn't only been above expectations. Pullups are still really bad (can't do a single one unassisted). I therefore see myself forced to alter one of my st goals (3x5 unassisted pullups before 6. july). It just isn't realistic at this point. I am extending the timeperiod to 11. august (my 34th birthday).

The squats killed me today. This is by far the toughest session so far. I was actually afraid of the bar for a second. Funny how adjacent sessions differ hugely.

Squat: 5, 0,0,0,0 x 90 kgs
OHP: 5,4,4,3,3 x 60 (almost there!)
Deads: 1x5x110 (yeah motherfucker)
Prones: 3x20kgsx60 sec (this is such a great workout. It eats me up)
Chinups: 2x1 (Hell yeah!! Major breakthrough. My first unassisted chinup. Done with fierce froglike legdancing though, but I'm still counting them)
3x5 w/ jump + 1x10 feet down
Pullups: 2x10 feet down.

BW 100,3 kgs

5x5 70 kg OHP before 11. aug

I am taking today off. I feel weary and tired after the weekend. I will rest untill wednesday, and then take this shit full on. I have some 90 kgs to squat 25 times. Best be well rested and ready.

Spent most of my weekend in the mountains carrying rocks and boulders, clearing an area to raise a cabin. My grip and forearms are still aching a bit. and my eyes are sleepy from all the late nite fun in the hut.

Hi

Been a while since I logged. I took a good week off after last logged session. I was feeling weak and dreary all week long. i think the break has done me good. I am trying to be sensible about this training now. Must not overdo it and loose interest like many times before.

so anyway,... I have a couple of workouts to log.

Pullups: 0 (30 seated)
P.bridges: 3x30 on a ball

Deloaded a little after the break. My squats are making my back ache. My pt has recomended me to deload further and work on form. Will do that.

Didn't deload like i was going to. Managed the squats but felt weak and sorry afterwards. By back hurt as hell.

I sure suffered on the bench. Had a guy spot me, so I could add a couple of "not counted" reps for good measure. Wore me out.
