I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Hi! i used the search function of the forum to see if there was a similar topic to this but i didn't find it, but if i somehow missed it feel free to close this thread.

anyways, i was wondering what form of cardio would you recommend for playing rugby sevens(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_sevens)? HIIT? Tabata?

I know most of the guys and gals on here won't recommend this but look into crossfit and combine on your off days. Tabata is great as well.

so just four minutes of tabata can allow me to build endurance for the match(a rugby sevens match is just 14 minutes)?

From my understanding, tabatas will help increase your VO2max fairly quickly. To some extent this should carry over into your endurance for higher intensity activities such as Rugby sevens. In all likelihood, some combination of HIIT (e.g., wind sprints) as well as moderate duration (15-30 minutes), moderately high intensity steady-state running will be your best bet.
