I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Clarification on same day v. rest day cardio

Postby itsbruce on Fri Oct 02, 2009 10:37 pm

  • Post Strength Training. Harder, but you have more rest days and can do more cardio. Example: MO/WE/FR weights first, then cardio.
  • On Rest Days. Include days for total recovery: 3 days on, 1 day off, 2 days on, 1 day off. Example: MO/WE/FR weights, TU/SA cardio.

Why is it possible to do more on the workout days than on rest days?

I think it's because we need rest days to repair our muscles and if we cardio on rest days we won't get as good results on str training. I'm not 100 percent sure this is why tho.

Nah you can do cardio on rest days, it's just that overloading will impair your progress. That means heavy lifting within the 24 hour period, you can throw in complexes and bodyweight work without compromising your progress.
