I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

De-Loading?

I am currently thinking about a deload on my squats. I feel my form is slacking now that I have passed the 270lbs mark. So my question is, if I deload on my squat should I deload my other lifts as well or keep moving forward? After I reached 195lbs on my bench I switched to 3x5 because I was really struggling with the weight. Should I deload my bench as well and try 5x5 on 200lbs and up or stick to 3x5 and just concentrate on correcting my squat?

I would say only deload on the squats if that is the only lift that you feel you have form issues with. I would stick with the 3x5 on the bench just because of the amount of time 5x5 takes at heavy weights, but that's just me.

I'm with Bman1, but I'm new to training...so.

Deload only on squats since it is the only thing you have issues with. It's like asking if you need a new laptop, why buy a desktop?

As for reducing sets from 5 to 3, I believe it's fine.

Deload squat only.

Why the scale down to 3x5 on bench ? Only because it became hard to complete 5x5 ? It only means you lack strength.
Your choice. Deload to 200 and back to 5x5 or continue with 3x5 but I would suggest the former.

5x5 is a lot more work so it builds more strength.
5x5@ 200= 5000lbs moved
3x5@ 215= 3225lbs moved

If you go back to 5x5 you can always scale back down to 3x5 later on, but by then you should be further then you are now with 3x5.

Only if you had to deload 3 times on a lift (1 deload = 3 successive stalls) OR if recovery becomes a problem you should consider scaling down to 3x5.
Once you get to approx. 1.5xBW on squat / 2xBW on deadlift you can explore your options for other programs. For now, try to get as far as possible using the current program.
It is the only way you will get increases workout per workout. When moving to intermediate it means weekly increases at best, advanced is even less (but then the weights are a lot higher :) )

I would deload only on Squat, in fact I did just 2 weeks ago. You can see it in my training log, I did it for the same reason as you. I felt that about 255 lbs. I started to not go past parallel and wanted to work on form. I deloaded to 225, kept with 5x5, kept all the other lifts the same. Heck a 40-lb deload will get you right back to where you were in 2.5 weeks anyway, so it's not a big deal.

Plus, you end up having a bit more energy for the remaining lifts, and you can make some progress there.

Unless SL has changed, deload only on exercise on which you have stalled. Proceed all other lifts as heavy as you can.
You cannot expect shoulders and OP to progress at same rate as legs and squats or back/biceps and chins etc.

Thanks for all the responses. I deloaded to 245 today on my squat and things went a lot better. I think this will really get my form back to where it should be.

@ Holvoetn I am going to push my bench back to 205 and try 5x5 again on Monday. It wasn't only strength, but also time which lead me to switch to 3x5
