Dear Mehdi,
I've been reading your posts for almost a year now. And since you have started to discuss topics regarding no breakfast in the morning and fasting... I am now posting some of my ideas and experience re: Fasting.
I am practicing fruitarianism for the last two years 95%. And I know that you have chosen the hunter/ gatherer path. Even though we have some conflicting ideas regarding what diet to chose... I'll try to give my humble opinion about fasting.
At the age of 23, an area of my jaw bone was removed because the Dentist told me that bacteria is eating my bone. I undergo what they called debridement but after months have passed, it returned. Pus is draining in that area again. So, I decided to research alternative approach to healing.
Fast forward, I was intrigued in the Gracie Family ( Jiu-Jitsu ) for practicing proper food combining in their diet. So, I search where this idea came from and I stumbled at Dr. Herbert Shelton's works.
Example:
http://chetday.com/fcprins.htmlDr. Herbert Shelton is one of the most experienced Natural Hygienist when it comes to fasting. Almost 30,000 patients in his entire career. So i read almost all of his writings. I tried fasting in 2008 for 10 days and 21 days this year. I've learned that you will not loss strength even you haven't eat for days. There is no muscle loss or muscle wasting until you will reach the point of Starvation. As far as I understood you will burn fat and your muscle will shrink because of glycogen depletion. But I recovered my weight and muscle mass in just 3 weeks . I feel great after i fasted. no more back pains and dandruff.
What I've learned in my research are the following:
1.) There is no cure but only healing. Only our body is capable of repairing and healing itself and it could be maximize when you are fasting. Digestion requires energy, so when you stop eating... the body has the opportunity to do its housecleaning.
2. ) "Most men can understand eating to get strong," says Dr. Tilden, "but it takes a long time to educate them to stop eating to get strong." It is difficult for people to understand this but I did experience it after i fasted.
3.) There is a difference between
fasting and
starvation.
Starvation results from food being denied to a person whose reserves have been exhausted, and, in its extreme stages, leads to death.
Fasting, on the other hand, is a period of rest and renewal with a potential for remarkable benefits with the body using its stored reserves as food.
That's it for now... try to visit
