I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Hi there! I've been doing the 5x5 for nearly 4 weeks now, but inconsistently, so I'm not lifting as much weight as I should be. Hopefully posting here and getting involved with this forum will help me stay motivated--I know it's been motivating to read about everyone's progress.

I'm 27, 5'8", 184lbs and my primary goal is to lose weight while building muscle. I started lifting weights a few months ago, on a program by Krista at stumptuous.com, but it was the 5x5 that got me doing squats again and now I'm hooked. Since starting this program I've only lost 1 pound, but I've also lost an inch from my waist, and that's with no diet or cardio training. I've started adding cardio to my workout this week and I'm working on changing my diet, so I expect to make even better progress in the next few weeks.

My short term goal, the milestone that will make me most happy, will be to bench press 95lbs. I'm almost there. :D

Current goal: to bench press 95lbs.

You know, I assumed you were female. If you're not, I apologize.
I will climb the mountain. They've told me it's too high, it's too steep, it's too rocky, it's too difficult. But it's my mountain. I will climb it. You'll soon see me waving from the top...and until I reach the peak, I'm not coming back. - Jim Rohn
