I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

ER, question on GOMAD

I'm starting the Stronglifts 5x5 tomorrow, and I've started GOMAD today. Three questions:

Would drinking milk an hour prior to bed be okay?

Would it be better to chug the milk, or just enjoy it while reading a book or a videogame?

Since I'm starting the stronglifts tomorrow, the weights will be relatively low. Should I drink like half a gallon or just go for a gallon?

Sorry if these questions don't belong here, but the last one does, so eh. Sorry.

I would suggest starting GOMAD a little later in the program. The weights will be too low to really create a growth stimulus. For the other questions: Sip throughout the day, chug a lot PWO. It's probably better for comfort to finish the milk well before bed, or else you'll be waking up to hit the bathroom.

I agree with LTL. I always drank a quart before bed, sometimes two if I had been slacking throughout the day. You just have to get used to waking up with a huge need to pee!

Have a read of some of the GOMAD articles in this subsection of the forum - Stronglifts Articles.

In particular this one about 8 Common GOMAD Mistakes to avoid.
