I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Stumbled into this video of pro bodybuilder preparing food at home, really gives you an idea of the dedication to eating required to get that big.

Make sure and watch all three vids too.

I'm just in awe at these guys and the discipline it takes to go through with that. I was reading something (on t-nation if I recall correctly) and the author was at a seminar with Wendler and a bunch of other powerlifters/bodybuilders. Wendler was talking about nutrition and then made the comment that they were going to order pizza for lunch. Nobody commented at all and everyone ate their share when the pies came. Except for one guy who had a contest in a few weeks and he pulled out his lunch box and ate his premade lunch. The author went on to say just how valuable a lesson that was to him.

This makes my gallon of milk look like a pathetic attempt at gaining weight.

At first I was getting depressed watching that - I guess I was thinking the guy was gonna eat all those chicken breasts in one day. But yeah, amazing dedication. To get big, you have to work just as hard in the kitchen, if not harder, as you do in the gym.

Somewhat inspired, I just started the timer after finishing a meal. Gonna have a glass of milk in an hour. Pathetic compared to the guy in the video, but fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you look at it), I don't need as many calories as he does.

Am I the only one that chuckled at his 'I don't drink diet soda's, there's too much chemicals' remark?

Don't get me wrong, nothing but respect for someone with this much dedication, but he's still a pro bodybuilder, pretty sure he's seen his share of chemicals.

@sarduspeter: I prefer them that way myself. More texture, and there's a lot of vitamins and minerals in the skins of fruit and veges.

In Italy we always peel them before cooking, except for boiled potatoes, where we peel them after they're cooked.

Now that I think about it maybe I saw an american fried potatoes ad (featuring a big breasted, short haired blonde girl :D) where they were also unpeeled.
Maybe it's common in english-speaking countries.

Well, I think I'm off-topic. :P

People are less 'traditional' in english speaking countries. People go with what suits them or follow the trend of the day. Ive personally always used potato skins because I think potatoes are dull without them. 'traditionally' potatoes used to be peeled here in england but that was when the only potatoes you could get were covered in mud. These days the vast majority of available spuds are the product of intensive modern farming practice. Potatoes have a delicate smooth spotless clean skin straight from the grocer. The fact that many people including TV chefs like to follow health trends and the idea of 'whole foods' means the potato skin is increasingly popular.

I eat the skin of most vegetables, things like pumpkin even. The only skin I really dislike is chicken skin, which I still eat if its fried/grilled.
