I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Take for instance a compost heap. The peal left over from that delicious banana or the discarded rind from that juicy orange you’d had earlier. The dog excrement you dreaded picking up your backyard. The grass clippings left over from your bag when you mowed the lawn last. You can add it all to your compost heap. You choose the site(gym), choose the structure(goals), add the ingredients(motivation), care for and feed the compost pile(eat and train), and collect the finished compost for use(fruits of your labor). That’s what lifting is to me, a giant compost pile. The pump lifting provides mentally and physically is second to none.

An otherwise ordinary day can become extraordinary. A burden placed firmly on your shoulders can now become a blessing. A spark can turn into a wildfire. Your head firmly entrenched in clouds. All this because of a session that exceeded any and all expectations. A great deal of time and effort goes into avoiding crisis. When you’ve got some heavy weights perched precariously above your head you are thrust directly into crisis. You know this is what crisis is all about. Do or do not. Yet you handle it deftly. Why? You’ve tailor made your mind and body to work as one in that instant. You reworked your wiring. Going forward you aren’t running against the wind anymore. It has become second nature.

Think the compost heap is a bit far-fetched, but I can definitely relate to the 2nd part. Thanks for posting, Motivation.

Hi Motivation,

Another writing sample! I really enjoyed the second part as well, and it seems to stand wonderfully well on its own i think. Thanks for posting again. Keep writing :)
