I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

MaxJ wrote:Nice work on the PRs, Faraz! All this stuff looks great, but I'm really in awe of the Turkish getups...you did 9 at the END of a workout? Wow. I actually saw someone do one in the flesh for the first time (with an 85 lb barbell...yikes) and it was about the most jaw droppingly impressive thing I've ever witnessed. Really nice work!

Thanks Max, I actually did 3 sets of 3 per side, so 18 reps...... I was puffing and panting like crazy.... best way to finish a workout!!

Good luck with the Press PR coming up. I'm sure you'll nail it! Otherwise, how else will our stats continue to be exactly the same? :P

AWesome job!
Why did you jump 5kg after that Press PR instead of 2.5?

Thanks guys,

Mistake on my part jumping 5kg, as the 70kg felt a bit lighter then I though it would, so went for for 75kg

Power Cleans 5x3 72.5kg
Squats 5x5 95kg - felt a pain in my knee on the first set, think i was sloppy during my warmup but made it through the sets.
Bench 5x5 82.5kg - last set was a grind
TGUs 2x3 20kg per side
Dips 25kg 2x5 1x3

Really long and tough workout, by the time I got to dips I was wrecked so decided to try 25kg rather then 30kg.

How have you dealt with the dilemma in your new program of including the Bench and the Press? I've been thinking of switching to something similar, or even the same thing, but I wouldn't like to give up either one.

Yeah, I have just been rotating the press and bench which is probably the best way to include both, but that means one light session of either press and bench in a week which is not ideal.

Then I though of doing 8x3 or 8x2 speed work when either bench of press falls on recovery day. So I did that with the bench last week.... might try that and see how progress goes.

What do you think? Let me know what you do

Honestly, I don't know much about intermediate/advanced programs. I may just continue with my lower volume 3x3 for most lifts for a little while until something sparks my interest. I've been stalling a bit lately though. I'm hoping the 2.5L of milk that I've started back up with is going to help me get moving again. I'm interested in seeing how you progress in this program though.

Power Cleans 75kg 5x3 - Form was a bit suspect, I find I receive the bar with my legs too far apart to get low enough, have to work on it
Squats 4x5 1x4 97.5kg - Bastard last rep, pissed off!!
OHP 5x5 52.5kg

Thats it, no dips and TGUs... was tired and the one day rest didn't help.
