I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Sorry to hear about the knee FGNM.

You dropped the weight by 10 lbs on squats. How did it feel? I'm assuming the knee held up ok. When do you have your xrays?

Bummer about the knee. I hope you get this sorted out quickly. But you were still able to squat ok it seems (albeit lighter).

Great work on the chin ups. :D

It is not easy pulling off sets of three, most folks do the 3, 2, 1 kinda thing, it is great that you leave it all at the bar.

Hey all... wow... three comments in one day? That amounts to an all out riot in my log...

Hey PG, Well X-Rays are Monday, I hope. Surgery to follow in a week or two??? Wifes happy i called the doc... i didnt really want to but the dam thing keeps bugging me... like when im kneeling down to tie my sons shoes, push back my chair from my desk, getting out of the car... etc...

Welcome to my log James! Dude if i can lift 80% of what your lifting by 41years old i will consider my training a huge success... :) I cannot wait to start upping my calories in January.... the thought of training on almost 3000 kcals is just blowing my mind... should take me 6-8 weeks to get there... do you think i should go back to stronglifts or just keep going a a more ssbbt routine once im there? Im currently eating 1900-2000 a day in a 45/45/10 split between pro/fat/carbs thats about what ive been at since august 2008 when i finished loosing weight maybe a little lower...

@Barry... i almost did 3,3,4 but my form was fading fast and i was running out of time to get to work... i wanted to do one more set of the be/chins but just didnt have the time... i probably could do 10x2 or something like that but it would take too long...

3.5 weeks to my "last" surgery with the Plastic Surgeon...

I'm guessing all this training will pay huge dividends post surgery FGNM. Good luck.

How do you like those stepups? How high is the box you're stepping onto?

Well now you know. There is nothing wrong with taking some time off to heal.

You can spend that time doing pull ups!

Thanks Barry... :)

Doc did the usual drop weight (like another 10-15 lbs), stop walking 3 miles a day, stop squatting so much... you know the usual. Im not going to stop squatting... well at least not till i get my bodyweight...

Now when i come back i might EASE back into it a bit... more of a 5/3/1 for a while or something like that.. dunno... trying to cut more weight is so mentally difficult at the moment... but if it was easy then everyone would do it...

Weights down to 186-187 depending on the day...

Im kinda in limbo... ive got my followup surgery in 10 days... im kinda feeling a bit lost... when i get back i need to figure out what to do.

im stalling in ssbbt at the moment, im not eating enough (1900 a day)... im like a car trying to go in two different directions... wanting to lose fat but get stronger... either i have to change my exercise routine or i need to eat more...

looking for a clue.
