I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Sorry to hear about the knee. What will your options be? Or will you have to wait for the MRI?

well i cant do any more damage to the knee as far as the meniscus goes... so as long as it dont hurt doc said i can still do it... bw squats hurt some(not a lot as long as i keep the knee stable) but i dont want to think about being under 150lbs and having that knee wobble a little like it does sometimes... deadlifts i dont know about... i knew i could rackpull so i did...

so instead of squats i rackpulled 225 2x5 last night, ohp on one leg (still supported by the other) and did a whole freaking lot of pullups 10x3 (ok a lot for me)... might try a full deadlift friday...

im scarey good with my diet right now (its the only thing i can truly control anyway) until i get it figured out. mehdi gave me a new goal of getting to 10% bf by Christmas.

MRI is not going to even get scheduled till monday or tuesday... till then... i just gotta keep focused and lifting heavy (for me anyway)...

10x3 on pullups is a lot. Good job!

Keep us updated on how things go with the MRI and the fat loss goals.

BW Deadlift... small stop on the road to "not weak"

Postby FatGuyNoMore on Wed Jul 01, 2009 5:08 am

Since this is the 100th post in my log it might as well have a couple of pr...

Mod Workout A (from Mehdi)

Deadlift: 200lbs 3x5 - OK... this is freaking heavy... i mean it was all i had and then some... i want to repeat this weight... felt like i was near my max every rep
Bench: - 130lbs (new pr!) 5x5 - only felt my heels come off the floor on the 2nd rep of first set... after that i planted the things and they didnt move... kept shoulders tight, pressed them hard into the bench. took 3 min in between each set
Rows: 10, 11, 6, 4 - took 2 min between first three sets...
RCs: 15, 12, 12 - abs didnt start burning till reps 13, 14, 15 on first set...

I had to add the extra reverse crunches so they could all be personal records :)

Damn deadlift surprised me on how heavy it was at first... felt like it was glued to the freaking floor...

Bench was hard but i had decent speed thru first three reps each set...

Rows... tried moving feet out on last set... couldnt get one... yah i freaking hate these things... not as much as ohp but still freaking hate them...

Hey FGNM. You seem to be making progress dude, even though you can't squat at the moment, good on ya! :D Sorry about the prospect of surgery, but I hope you get sorted and will be squatting large in no time.
Take care.

Thanks guys... all alone in the dark of night i sit there and wonder... "Whats PG thinking right now?" or "I wonder if ill ever catch up to willie?"... seriously... knowing you guys are around keeps me motivated...

12/7 Workout....

Deadlift 195 3x5... back to 200 tomorrow... double overhand grip... heavy ass weight.

Press - First time at 100 5,5,3,4,4... just trying to sneak up on willie...

pullups (non bicep dom w/band) 6,6,5,4. did an extra set to keep volume up. gonna do 4x10 next time.

Prones 30 left, 30 right, 45 both, 45 both, felt like i really didnt get flat on the single legs... im going to tape these next time or get a mirror or something.

overall i felt it was a good workout, forearms are tight and are going to be sore tomorrow!
