Well that pretty much explains the whole story. These are just boys that want to feel like men, so they find someone to be dominate over, either by intimidation, or just thru mocking. Stick to your workout and keep adding weight. These guys will soon recoginze you're not B.S.ing around and leave you alone.

This naïve “why should it matter” complaint always cracks me up. Time for a movie quote (Face Off /1997):
Castor Troy (to his daughter): If you dress like Halloween, ghouls will try to get in your pants.
So if you dress like a freak, it's reasonable that people may react to you like a freak show. This painful bit of obviousness has become too un-PC to teach apparently, as judged by a number of the job applicants I see these days.
Christ, we had one engineering applicant come in wearing a dress – and he was a man, baby! (My lesbian boss claimed she was going to hire him, but couldn’t figure out what the bathroom arrangements would be. I
think she was kidding).
So why should it matter? If you dress funny, get laughed at, and don’t like it, then it matters. If it doesn’t bother you, it doesn’t matter. If trading your Richard Simmons dolphin shorts and sweat bands for a t-shirt and sweats solves the problem, that’s a pretty easy fix, no?
