I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I have had six knee surgery's from skiing and allot of other broken bones or tears from mma, rock climbing etc. Has any of you guys tried G C and had good luck on it or is it just another useless product?

The jury still seems to be out on this one, but in general, most studies seem to point toward the placebo effect more than anything else. We gave it to our dog for a period when he had an arthridic knee condition. It did sweet FA and required perscribed drugs to fix it.
With six knee surgery's under your belt, I'd be looking for a good physio and maby some lower impact sports..

I highly doubt it's a placebo affect. I have an old dog with arthritis and she was falling down when standing on the floor and couldn't run anymore. So I have been giving her Glocosamine Chondroitin recently. Within a week, she was running around again. My dog still has some joint issues, but she's a lot better than before. I doubt my dog thought that GC would make her better :D

Note: You have to make sure you have the correct dose in order for it to be effective. I don't have any info on me atm, but if you google it a bit, you can find some info. With that said, since you've had so many surgeries it may not be effective for you.

I just finished off a bottle of it. Says it takes 4-6 weeks to take affect. I have constant knee pain, it has lessened overtime, but I cannot say if it is from the pills or lifting.

I take glucosamine for my bunged up knees. I can't say for sure that it makes a difference. If it's a placebo effect, I'm not worried because it's not a huge expense.

I do know for sure that since I started doing stronglifts (and that means squats), doing mobility and dynamic stretching exercises, eating better, taking 6 or more fish oil tabs a day... my knees have improved beyond belief. Other than general achy soreness that comes from working out, my knee pain is gone and I have no fear of subluxation or dislocation any more, which was a real problem in the past.
