I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Greetings from Finland

Postby FahadG on Wed Oct 21, 2009 2:32 pm

Hello all, my name is Fahad and I am an IT professional in Finland. I am an aspiring cricketer who is ready to give it as much as possible while working and spending time with wife and a kid. Due to more than needed concentration on education during my late teens and early twenties, I could not find time to learn the sport of cricket which I am crazy about. A few years ago, I finally got myself ready to play but at 27, I was too late to learn the sport which needs a lot of fast hand-eye co-ordination. Plus, I felt many times that my body strength is restricting my cricketing abilities. So, I tried to get strong and fit for 2010 season. I am dedicating myself to get strong and learn cricket as much as possible. Everyone says I am too old to learn it properly but hey it's never too late, is it?

I will start maintaining my 'training log' to keep myself motivated.

welcome to stronglifts FahadG. I didn't know they played cricket in Finland. Being from New Zealand, I was batting and bowling from a young age, and from trying to teach friends from overseas how to bowl, and the rules of the game, I can understand how difficult it must be to pick the game up. There's plenty of forum members from NZ, Australia, India and Great Britain, so if you have a question about cricket you can always ask a question in the off-topic section of the forum.

Morjens, nice to see another Finn in here. But I've got to ask: cricket? You are the probably the first Finn I've come across that is passionate about it.
