I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Been to the gym today and spent just under 50 mins on the Cross Trainer (Eliptical). If it helps it's a Life Fitness 95xi and I use the 'Round the World' program set on level 12. This alters the resistance automatically, and according to the readout I'd burnt 825 calories by the time I'd done. Felt pretty good too! :D

Haha, if only we could trust those counters. Nevertheless, you must've burnt a lot of calories.

Good work GKW, still progressing.

On the diet, it may be something that takes longer. I think that increasing calories can cause the body to shift its energy into processing the food, making you feel more lethargic (like needing a sleep after a big meal). I think with consistent calorie intake and regular lifting the body will adjust accordingly and you'll feel better.

Cheers AD. At the moment I'm going to continue as I am, but if I do start to feel low on energy again, then a few more calories can be added to see if that's where the problem is.

Damn, you made those push ups look real easy. Good job mate. I still have a hard time with regular push ups! I'll take some video of my push ups sometime soon.

I see you're not using the belt. Must feel good knowing you do a big squat without the belt.

Keep going strong, you're doing great.

Thanks bluestreak, I only use the belt if I think I need it, but tonight I felt OK. As for your push-ups, you're about three inches taller than me so you've got a lot farther to go down, that's what makes them harder! 8) :D

+20kg in that backpack? Nice!
Great vid, GKW. And big congrats for dropping the belt from your squats! Your abs will thank you as they get stronger from all the flexing.

Hi gkw,
Just read your log mate. Looks like you're a strong chap! I think the odd twinge or muscle strain comes with the territory but it's good when these things get better and you can power on through your workouts. That OHP is huge. I'm back at my previous fail weight of 45kg next week.
Keep it up,
Mark.

Nice push-ups GKW! Going to have to see about getting a backpack from an army surplus store, as don't think mine will hold 20kg.
