I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Monday night is ladies night for me. But ladies night at the gym around our house means hubby stays home with the kids while I go to the gym.

When I take the kids to the park I go on the equipment and play with them as opposed to sitting on the benches like the other parents. I get a lot of strange looks especially when their kids want to play with us.

Very nice work on the BW circuit stuff, it's surprising how difficult they can be right? Looks like you're making good progress on the BB too.

I have to say this "Ladies Night" thing is just confusing to me. What's the deal with that.
Goals:
Squat- 315 lbs 5x5
Deadlift- 400 lbs 1x5 (regular grip)
Press- 205 lbs 1x5
Current (known) 1RM:
Squat: 371 lbs
Clean: 220 lbs

For reasons I do not understand either, many women are uncomfortable working out with men (or at least that is what they say). My guess is they whined enough about it so management decided to give them one night to themselves.

Pfff ... had an 'argument' with my wife.
I was supposed to pick up our son from volleyball practice and I told here I was just going to drop him off at home and then I wanted to go to the gym.
She: "Why is everybody always leaving me alone ?"
Me: "Dear, you know it is your turn to go upstairs with him, so I might just as well go to the gym"
She: "Yeah, but why all of a sudden you do all that stuff ?"
Me: "OK, I stay home."

I went to pick up my son and when I came back in she wanted me to go to the gym. I said I did not wanted anymore. Mentally I was not ready anymore, so I could just as well stay home.
So ... home work-out.

Circuit:
30 BW squats
15 pushups
4 chins
10 reverse crunches*
Repeat 10 times.
Finished in a bit over 1 hour.

* wanted to put "3x ab-wheel kneeled" but the first roll-out I did my abs were protesting LOUDLY. Could it be this is STILL from past Friday ?

Sorry to hear that H. Hubby and I have had arguments before a workout. It definitely takes away from the mental side of training. It's hard to focus when you're seething.

Past 2 days I have been sanding and repainting the garden shed. I made sure to alternate left and right hand.
Surely felt it this morning in my complete shoulder girdle

SL5x5 Session 44
03/may/09

- 5 minutes warmup rowing
- Squat
5x60kg
4x100kg
3x120kg
1x130kg
5x5 135kg/297lbs

-Overhead press
4x20kg
2x40kg
5x5 50kg/110lbs (finally ...)

- Deadlift
5x60kg, prepared this weight on the safety bars of the squat rack, then lifted/shrugged it up to put it on the ground. Doing so I felt something strange in my left biceps.
3x100kg
1x140kg
1x5 150kg/330lbs

- Chin-ups
3xF
7/4/3
Less then last time, I know. I guess all that sanding and painting the past two days did something to me
Left biceps feels weird but there was no pain and it surely was not the reason why the number of reps is lower then last time.

- TGU
1x5x10kg
1x5x8kg
Major fatigue in upper arms/shoulders  , will lower weight even further next time so I can make 5x5 but I already sense this is going to be fun !

No Tabata rowing, still plan to go for a walk with the dog this evening provided it does not rain (+ 18kg backpack).

After sanding and painting for 2 days I probably would have chosen TGUs also. :D
