I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Figured it was about time I post a message on the board.

I have been reading the forum since the beginning of December 2009.
I started the 5x5 program Decmeber 21st, 2009.

I am now 7 weeks into it (by the spreadsheet) and love every minute of it.
I have tried weightlifting on and off my whole life, but it was always isloation exercises, curls etc....

Just want to thank Mehdi for the great site, and everyone who posts such great material to read.
After 20 years of not knowing how to get the results I have always wanted, I finally am getting there.

I have started the log here too, but I mostly keep my log in my sprial notebook.

GO CANADA!
And good luck to all other Olympic athletes too. :D

Hey,

Someone else from Squamish! I never expected that when I joined.

OK - so I've only been on SL5X5 for one workout, but I'm here to stay.

Hey Tony,

Just seen the post. Where do you do your routine?

I posted that message hoping I would find someone in Squamish.

Didn't really look round town much - I need to discipline myself to workout and doing that at lunch works for me. Tried it in the evening, but there's just too much pressure on family time (one's nearly 3 & one's 3 months!).

So how has it been for you? I only found this site recently, like I said. I'd be interested to hear some comments/thoughts?

Well I started December 21st, 2009. On purpose, so it would not be a New years Resolution. :D

I have been enjoying every single day I go. I have had to miss some days because of the Olympics (work related).
I go to the Gym at 5am Mon-Wed-Fri, or earlier if Don is there.

Like you I stumbled upon this site, looking for weightlifting and strength training.
I have found the site and the people on the forums to be of great help and resource.

By seeing other people of all shapes/sizes/sex progress at this program is what made me want to start it.
Now, I do not see myself ever stopping. I have gained considerable strength in the short time I have been doing this.
Also the fact I am growing muscle, and losing a little BF is nice.

I am personally not too worried about the BF loss right now. I am more interested in reaching my first plateau, then focusing on some fat loss.

Good luck in you training.
