I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Hi everyone

I was spurned to join the forum after receiving an email from StrongLifts today on the topic of staying motivated if you train alone. I have always trained in one form or another since my teens. Now I'm teetering on the other side of 30 I'm becoming conscious of the effort required to keep in shape. This is complicated further as I suffer from a chronic bowel condition called Crohn’s which I'm sure some of you are aware of. This has made training difficult over times, especially from the nutritional aspect.

The reason for joining the forum is to try to communicate with other people suffering from IBD and how they train with this. Also I have recently become involved in martial arts and I am keen to chat about how people balance weight training with a martial art? In particular whether they find martial arts training provides any gains with their weight training.

I'm going to search the board to see if there are already topics there on this but would welcome any pointers.

Thank you for you time.

Hi Alec, welcome to the forums.

I'm fairly sure I have read discussions on Krohn's (or Crohn's) in the forums some time back. You'll need to search for it though.

Good luck.
