I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Ok, about a month ago, I signed up for martial arts classes (Tae Kwon Do to be exact). If I go to those classes 3x a week, will that interfere with my "recomposition effort?" Right now I'm about 6' 1", 280lbs, a 48in waist at roughly 30% body fat (caliper measured by a professional). I don't want to lose too much muscle or not be able to recover from all the squatting since TKD is mostly kicks.

Actually, TKD and other MAs are excellent cardio. I've thought of doing that myself, but really don't have time to add another activity. One suggestion though would be make sure your TKD days are different than your strength training days. Depending on what other cardio you've been doing, you may have to adjust that down as well. Three days of TKD should be plenty. Any more cardio than that and it will probably start hurting your lifting.
