I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Good article - I train alone and if it wasn't for the forum and keeping a Training Log here, I am sure I would not be where I am now with the weights.

Although one should not compare themselves to others, one is only competing with oneself, it is only natural to try to compete against others - the Forum provides a great place for this.

Agree, good article.
And I concur, this forum is part of the reason why I was and am able to do what I do with the weights.

Great article. I too work out alone and have found both my training log but the training logs of others to be very motivational and a source of great informtation. It's also nice to know that you're not alone in your struggle to get stronger or in you wanting to do the right thing in the gym.

Interesting article Mehdi. Although I disagree with you on a few things (like you say in your post), you have created one of the best forums I've been a part of. I think the strong moderating with a specific goal in mind is the key to that.

By the way, I do like the books you read...
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Even if you train with a partner, there is always something more to be learned from a group as diverse and accessible as those in this forum.

I would go as far as to say that even if you have a coach, it's good to have a resource like this forum to ask questions and get feedback.

A free second opinion, as it were.
