I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

for the last month ive been getting a pain in my right hip flexor whenever i squat. it isn't too strong, but it happens every time even when im just warming up with the bar.

i notice it on some other leg exercises too that involve moving the hips.

the pain goes away as soon as im done working legs

so i decided to take a couple weeks off from doing legs to let it heal

i usually stretch my hip flexor every morning along with my hamstrings, quads, etc.

i was wondering if i should stop streching it for now while i let it heal because maybe this could be agrivating it?

also does anyone know any other things to do that would help it heal faster?

I've noticed a similar situation with my squats. I work out at work and after 8 months of squatting, we finally got a mirror. The first day I noticed i wasn't quite hitting parallel and when i tried to go lower, i ended up having to knock 50 lbs. off (ego check, hah). Anyway, after the first set i started to feel a tearing pain in my right upper quad and out to the right side. The only thing that helps is pivoting my feet outwards - maybe 15 - 20 degrees from straight ahead. It still hurts but is a little more bearable.

i'm sure someone here can give you better advice though.
5' 8" 195lbs
Squat 5X5 265, Bench 5X5 220, DL 5X5 250, Clean and Press 5X5 140, Bent Row 5X5 165

some kinda love, some kinda hate
