I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

About a couple of years ago, I was in wannabebig.com forums, but they seemed tailored for the bodybuilder competitive wanna be, and not an average joe who just wants to be fit like myself. Also, their routines were damn intense with all sorts of excercises and lifts. It was too much. I wanted fast, efficient weight lifting.. so I think i googled those search topics, and stronglifts suddenly appeared. I got hooked with Mehdi's in your face, no BS, writing style, and the way he handled all sorts of topics, from nutrition, to mental state, to the individual exercises. It was sincerly, an eye opener on many stuff for me. From then on, this has been my only reference site for all fitness/weight lifting topics.

Mark Sisson of Marks Daily Apple (author of PRIMAL BLUEPRINT) recommended this site.

I must have read 100's of pages on this site and reviewed everyone's video critique requests to learn
as much as possible as a newbie to this type of training. It got to the point where it was almost
a 'game' in that I would watch the video's and be able to pick out where the person was going wrong
on their form (particularly squats) and then read responses to see if I was on target. This way, when
I video'd myself it was easy to pick up my area's of weakness or incorrect form. (my knees want to
go inward on those squates!)

i became attentive on stronglifts by a discussion about strength training
on a poker site sub forum including the link to the stronglifts ebook.
after reading the ebook, i knew, "this guy (Mehdi) knows what he is talking about" and i started SL5x5.
this was perfect timing because i just canceled my contract with my gym at that point,
finished my homegym at the same time and was ready to rumble :)

I was searching for a simple old school routine to get moving again. I have been in a sedentary control room job for 13 years and have gotten soft and over weight. The 5x5 fit the bill perfectly! So I have been going at it for the past 3 weeks and loving it.

I was struggling with my image as a 'skinny guy'. I have been doing sports such as tennis, swimming and soccer for all my life. I looked for a reasonable program that would help me build strength and add muscle to my frame. I'm lucky to have stumbled upon SL 5x5. I'm looking forward to achieving the 5x5 goals and being satisfied with the results.

I was directed to this website from http://www.pitchvision.com/the-complete ... t-fitness/ (Part 4: Strength, Speed and Power > Strength workout for beginners). At first I thought this is another run of the mill weight training website that will showcase some perfect bodies to get money out of you at the end. But what I saw was the experiences of normal men over the years who want to be strong and fit. Well done and thanks to Mehdi n co.

I first found this site when I was searching for tips on good squat/deadlift form. I had been doing them already with what turned out to be pretty good form, I was just searching to see if there was anything I was missing or anything new I could find that I liked.

So at first, I was just looking at the different "How To" sections... then I read about the 5x5 plan, and I just started doing that. This plan seems to really be what I'm looking for, I like the big, compound movements already. I'm interested in actually getting stronger, not just looking pretty.

So like I said, I've just started... I have to admit, it's kind of frustrating working so light at first, but I'm excited to see if the starting light and adding 5lbs. every time really works.

I googled lose fat and it came up nice and hi.

I'm new to the internet world so thought this would be a great place to learn a bit more about weight loss ideas that may be happening overseas that we have not got to yet in NZ

http://losefat.co.nz is my first website and http://weightlosscoach.co.nz

I was Searching for "the Truth" and this is what I found. Strong lifts, Starting Strength, Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle seem to be the only truths out there.

Thank you for debunking the MISinformation we have all been fed and feeding us the "real deal".

I was having trouble with back pain, and somebody told me that it might have to do with "tight hip flexors". So I did a google search on that, and I ended up at laurensfitness, and she had a lot of links to stronglifts, links like this: http://stronglifts.com/lordosis-why-it-causes-lower-back-pain-how-to-fix-it/.

At about the same time I was looking at incorporating more strength training into my exercise routine, and I really liked the approach presented here- big compound lifts are so much more fun that isolation exercises! Two months into the program, having fun.

The almighty StumbleUpon Button brought me here (whats the probability of that wow). I read about the program, read the entire faqs, read some of the forum to get a sense of the community and created a forum account and started the program within the next week. Discovering this site rekindled my love of lifting, and helped (and still helps) me learn how to properly do a lot of things I thought I was doing right. All I have to say is thank you to all of you an most especially Mehdi for the guidance and support.
