I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I just stumbled upon it, browsed through the forums, and really liked it. I have made several goals. Besides fitness, I like to participate in life goals as well. By that I mean relationships, doing great work, eating healthy, etc. At least keep my eye on what I am doing everyday is helping me keep in positive mood. I am using a free online tool (goalspal.com ) to keep track of my goals.

Saw it on Facebook. And it just so happens that I am looking to get bigger and stronger. I got back in the gym 2 months ago after being out for 5 yrs. Now that I'm warmed up and have read the website & e-book I'm ready to make progress.

Wassup y'all. I had been crossfitting for a while back in 07/08 and off and on since. The owner of the Xfit gym I trained at put a link to this site on his page I came to it and the rest as they say... I trained Stronglifts for almost a month early last year, did one bad squat and hurt my back. The changes in my body were enough for me to see it as an excellent workout though.

Stumbled upon it, before I was using marksdailyapple and all of that Eat Primal stuff. Then someone mentioned Stronglifts and it seemed like such an improvement compared to what I had been doing previously. 2.5 weeks in and enjoying it!

found this a yr ago looking for weight programmes on the net randomly to get something better designed for a skinny guy; rather than the generic beginner programme a gym will give ya no matter what goals you tell them you have in mind. :) have done stronglifts one and off but am making the effort to commit to it strictly as there have been gains

I am a believer in all natural lifting. The old timers that existed before steroids were incredible. I am shocked at how few people realize
that most people today are needlessly confused. You just keep it simple and work. I was looking for some sample workouts of Reg Park, and somehow came across you guys so I joined. I am 36 and used to follow the NAVY SEAL training program, I do not want to run as much anymore. I want to save my knees, so I am cycling now, but I have a goal of being stronger, I have been using DINOSAUR TRAINING. Then I suffered a snow-boarding accident and have been recovering for six months. So if i am going to look like Reg Park or Steve Reeves, or a heavier Bruce Lee then I gotta get cracking before I hit 40. I am very interested in the 5x5 program and will be starting after I read the e-book.

I started training 5x5 and 5x10 about six months ago, and I've had phenomenal results (like nothing else I've ever tried in the last 25 years). So I decided to get online and see what other people's thoughts and experiences have been with it.

Was googl-ing for a good strength training program and stumbled across the site. I was a bit cautious at first as was waiting for the catch. Unlike plenty of other sites there doesnt seem to be an underlying marketing strategy, yes there are ads and links to products but they are not in your face or saying that you need them to make the 5x5 work.

ebook & xls planner are great. I agree with a previous post saying that you would pay for something like this usually - and its good enough. But i think the fact that you dont sets the site apart from the others.
I dont have any proper prev experience with proper lifting, have messed about with curling bars off and on. The ebook makes sense and im glad i found it before i wasted any more time.

So far am nearly half way through of the 12 week beginner plan and am already lifting more than i ever did. Ive put on 8 pounds and also lost a bit of fat. The 3 days a week is perfect for me managing work and family. And can all be done at home. And cuts out the bs.

so so far so good,
thanks.

Was trying P90 and was looking into FatBurningFurnace and realized that I'm a skinny bastard and needed to worry less about shape and more about strength and size. I'm GO-ing-MAD and believe the SL program is just what I need to get to man size. Thanks for having me...

For my senior project I'm studying capoeira (google it if you don't know what it is, it's awesome) and to do so I need to be way stronger than I am now...I'm a member on an online capoeira forum and a guy on there referred me to here. That's how I found Stronglifts. I stayed because the site is compelling enough to make me change my lifestyle for the better and show me how to do so, which is pretty cool.

I actually first found the site through StumbleUpon, but I didn't get interested and start the program until about six months later (started about 2 weeks ago). Glad I decided to get into it!

I started working with a personal trainer back in Oct 2009, and I googled "nutrition for women strength training" and the Stronglifts 5x5 nutrition 101 popped up first. I signed up for the email updates, and I have been following the nutrition suggestions. It has been four months and I have finally decided I can do this on my own using Stronglifts 5x5, instead of a trainer. There is no BS to this site, the info has helped me so much, and everyone seems so supportive -- such a great community I know I won't be alone as I try to gain strength and transform my life. Thank you!

Was following the New Rules of Lifting (good book) and googled a tutorial on how to squat. I was so impressed by what I found that I stayed put.

I googled strength training. Was looking for an exercise that was simple, involving bodyweight exercises, something similar to crossfit workouts.

Never turned back since I found Stronglifts. :D
