I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

How do I film myself?

I'm interested in having you guys critique my form, but I don't workout with a partner. How do you guys get the angle correct? All I have is a digital camera that can record video for about five minutes.

5 minutes is enough man.

I workout at home, so it's easier for me to put the camera/ my phone on something.
When I want to tap myself squatting, I just put it against my shoe, and make it lie down a bit, so the camera's view is like this: /

It's not so hard man, just try around a bit. :)

I used a bench, and placed the camera on top.
Stats:
Bench: 82kg
Squat: 107kg
Deadlift: 110kg
OHP: 50kg
Dips: 32kg
Pull-ups: 22kg

Have camera at medium height and far enough that your whole body fits in frame.

Use small plates on your barbell so we can see you body better. Do one video directly from the side (most important), and one at an angle. On a squat, rear angle is useful. On a deadlift, power clean, OHP etc - front angle is useful.

5 minutes is plenty, you only need about 30 seconds for each lift. Be careful not to face your camera at a bright light like a window as an auto camera will darken the image to compensate.

Investing 15$ in a cheap tripod should pay off in the long run since you can regular use it to check on your form (better then a mirror).
