    I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. :lol: But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Carbs. Promote fat loss: your body stores carbs as fat if your energy stores are full. And they make you hungry again faster.


Taken from the article. It should be "Carbs - Promote fat gain:...", isn't it?

Ok, if I am 88.5kg = 195lb, then I should be having c.3,500 calories, just for maintenance? Without knowing my bf%, the Cunningham equation suggests similar.

The website I had been using to monitor calorie intake suggests c.3,000, albeit without any additional activity factored in.

Is that where the extra 500 calories comes in, from walking, weightlifting, etc.

Thanks for the article, it shows that if I don't concentrate, I can seriously undereat, and that could be affecting my recovery.

I am still not getting enough calories, can I get ca 15-20% of total kcals from things like chocolate and other luxury items? I know they are not very nutricious, but I eat very healthly, altough not enough calories.

Looking at your stats, I think you want to gain weight. You should do GOMAD, healthier than the chocolate and stuff.

I just read the new blog post, I'll try to do it gradually, step by step. Previous time I was on it for 3 weeks, but I could not keep it up, I felt full and almost didn't eat other things.
