I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

This is an intresting topic. I can't remember who's theory i ras reading, may have been Shurgart's, but the idea was that holiday seasons like xmas are very largely responsible for why people put on weight gradually over the years.

The theory was that a lot of people will put on a few pounds every xmas, and vow that they'll diet and exercise after. Do they? Of course not, and 3 pounds of body fat isn't that much. But over 10 years that's 30 pounds of fat, over 20 years that's 60 pounds of fat.

And it's so easily done. All because we have the wealth to "eat well." It's easy to imagine how it could creep up on a lot of people. I thought it was a nice idea anyway.

@Sam277
Indeed. Add also the muscle loss that naturally happens as people get older, everything adds up. Glad to see you like it.

Email I got

hi mehdi,

thank you for having such a wonderful website and for sending out these emails. one suggestion: when you link to external sites such as the fatloss blackbook, could you include a quick note about whether or not you're being paid or compensated to endorse/link to the site/product? i don't mind clicking on the link even if you're compensated, but i think it would be better overall to have full disclosure on these types of things. thank you again so much for everything you have done with your site. i have been lifting regularly for almost three months now (and, according to my wife, am a bit less fat) thanks to your site. have a great day!

My reply

Thanks for the kind words. I'm not getting any commission for the fitness blackbook because nothing is being sold. The information is free, so is the webinar that follows. There will be a promo of Joel's Cheat Your Way Thin in a few weeks which I'll promote, and then I'll mention that I get a commission for it, as I did here: http://stronglifts.com/cheat-your-way-t ... on-review/

When reviewing products, I always mention that I get commisions. Examples:
http://stronglifts.com/burn-the-fat-fee ... om-venuto/
http://stronglifts.com/muscle-gaining-s ... -ferrugia/

Do know that I'm only recommending products that are inline with the site's philosophy. I get a lot of offers that I refuse, usually offers for product that plainly suck or stuff like supplements/steroids which I'm obviously against - no matter how much money they offer me.

Hope that makes sense. Good job on your fat loss.

Thanks,

-Mehdi

It's nice not to have to ignore pictures of new supplements, or skim over the bits in texts where respected pros are told to promote products like you sometimes have to on TNation.

You don't often seen morales on the internet.

Myeah, I worked 5 years in the corporate world doing a job I didn't like just because it paid well. I learnt my lesson.

Is the book unavailable starting November 12 or after November 12? I already can't access the website.

Looks like it's working now. Maybe the site was down earlier. Thanks!
