Recently, I had a colleague ask me "so how strong are you?" He asked this somewhat smugly because he knew that I'm not boasting any amazing numbers. I told him "I'm stronger than I was three months ago, and weaker than I'll be three months from now". That shut him up because it made the point that I'm only in competition with myself.
Very cool. That's my favorite part about keeping a training log-- you can flip back a few months and see definitive proof that what used to seem hard would not be as hard now. It's a great reminder especially after a bad session.
