I was just going to say that. After you drop the weight a few times the fear goes away. Squats aren't dangerous and don't hurt if you have good form, and losing the weight shouldn't be something you dread.
The common fears I think are fear for your lower back, fear of dropping the weight, and fear of the pain the bar can cause when sitting on your back. Back injuries are easy to prevent with good form and a strong lower back, dropping the weight isn't that bad, and your upper back toughens up to bear the weight eventually.
