I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

This article helped give me the confidence to change my life completely: http://www.gymjones.com/knowledge.php?id=15

It's an article that Mark Twight, creator of Gym Jones wrote about making positive change in your life.

At the time I read it I was living with my ex-girlfriend who did not make me happy, working 3-8 hour days a week to pay for my half of the rent/bills, and going to school full-time. While she didn't work cause her Dad paid for her half of the rent/bills, she took less credit hours in school than I did, and yet she still bitched constantly about how difficult her life was.

Reading that article and realizing how I did not like who I had become and the life I was living gave me enough strength to break up with her (after 5 years of dating), move out (and still pay my half of the last 2 months rent) and move back in with my parents, take more classes per semester so I can graduate this winter, and begin weightlifting as seriously as I wanted to.

I've never been happier.

I second this, all of the stuff in the Gym Jones knowledge section is awesome.

This reminds me of an old Zen saying that goes roughly, in the beginning a tree is a tree and a mountain is a mountain, and later a tree is no longer a tree and a mountain is no longer a mountain but finally a tree is just a tree and a mountain is only a mountain again. Or something like that my favourite at the moment is:
