I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

"Everywhere in life, the true question is not what we gain, but what we do."

"Go as far as you can see; when you get there you'll be able to see further."

"I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom."

"Men do less than they ought, unless they do all they can."

"Nothing builds self-esteem and self-confidence like accomplishment."

I would rather be ashes than dust!
I would rather that my spark should burn out
in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot.
I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom
of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
The function of man is to live, not to exist.
I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.
I shall use my time.

Those are good posters. They remind me of the old "there is no finish line" posters that Nike had a few years back. Very nicely done!

The squat, press, deadlift, and bench press have been used for decades by the strongest athletes on the planet. There is good reason for that. Any program that doesn’t use them is inferior to one that does.

Posted in a gym i visited last week:

"Whenever I face a situation where I question my ability to handle it, and self doubt starts to creep in, two words said aloud in my head have always got me through.

'Fuck You'.

Telling fear, self-doubt and insecurity to collectively "Fuck off" is incredibly satisfying.

Childish? Possibly. Immature? Probably. But it's surprising what you can conquer with this attitude."
