I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I read an article in ironman magazine about a guy who along with his other powerlifting friends, decided to try one of those russian squat routines. Which also included bench pressing and deadlifting all russian style. Anyway, he mentions that he had to reduce his workload because he was gaining too much muscle mass.

It makes me think how great would it be to be in a position where you are gaining too much muscle...
Stats:
Bench: 97kg
Squat: 112kg
Deadlift: 117kg
OHP: 55kg
Dips: 40kg
Pull-ups: 22kg

The deadlift is not dead; size is dead without it.

He was probably competing and gained too much weight from the high volume (I suppose something ala sheiko/smolov) which put him in a higher class.

I think that was the reason, that he wanted to stay in a weight class. But its fantastic to be in that position.

Man I can't even imagine how crushing that would be. Train for years to get to a single competition and weigh in too high, that's a nightmare.
