I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Ok that video was in the article "Why your shoulder blades must be over the bar on the deadlift"

Isn't he rounding his lower back? I could've sworn he is...

keep in mind when youre performing a max lift that your form cant be perfect. also add that to the huge muscles in his back may make it seem like its even more rounded

I've read judging form from powerlifting comps is generally a bad idea.
"So, logically, you aren't going to see the most picture-perfect form. It's like analyzing running mechanics on the marathoner who has heat stroke and is trying to crawl across the finish line."

yea, powerlifters need big weight so they do whatever they can, sacrificing form if necessary. plus, they use their thoracic muscles a lot when bending their upper back, which they claim is safe. :P (i think eric cressey said this)

He rounds his upper-back, not his lower back. You can round your upper-back, much easier that way. However you need the muscle control to make your upper-back round without your lower back round. Most people will round their lower back when their upper-back rounds.
