I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

I don't bother with whey. I think unless you are a bodybuilder there are more delicious ways of getting your protein.
My last killer sandwich was "the £5 sandwich" I went into my local cafe that does breakfast stuff, you know bacon butties etc... and said I wanted a sandwich made for £5. They made me a sandwich with a pack of sausage, a pack of bacon and four eggs. It got a round of applause from the builders waiting for their snap. I didn't tell the wife about that one.

Great sarnie Jim - I have a weakness for sausage, egg, mushroom and black pudding sarnies.
Think I could eat them daily

You know what you got me giggling over that one
Good advice, I mainly take whey after my workouts but I try to limit it and get more food in.
I find when i eat a big meal an hour or two before a workout I am rearing to go.
I once ate 20 eggs throughout the day, I still wonder what happened to them :D

Peace Jim.

Missed Saturday W/O Some little tool tried to steal the car so I spent all day getting new locks and the price was the same as the insurance excess. Not happy if I catch them I'll put the in my back yard so me and the dog can teach them about theft being wrong.

Anyway I'm off work now for a week so I don't have access to my rack and weights (I keep them at work) so it's off to Marks gym but I'm going to have a bit of a rest and just rain twice this week, Monday and Thursday.
Monday:
Deadlift (from six inch block)
135x10x10x10
220x10x10
315x10
405xfail - what the hell!
regroup smack self in face
405x5x5
450x1x1x1x1
Chins 100 reps (didn't count the sets )
Pullover Machine 5x10 - they've got a new pullover machine so I had to have a little play.
Preacher Curl -100 reps 100lb bar
Facepulls 100 reps
That's right preacher curls! But you need strong biceps to pull big weights off the floor.
went to TGI Fridays last night (brothers birthday) pretty awful place but they do monster burgers so I had one and felt bettter about the shitty deadlifts. I'll do some kettlebell swings to burn it off though.
Male 37 - 5'9" - 240lb.
Deadlift 600+
Squat 500+
Pess 315
Bench 450+
these numbers will go up (except the bench....bloody shoulder joint)

Thursday's w/o ended up happening on Friday due to unforseen drunkenness, but I was on holiday.
deadlift (in rack) after warm ups:
585 /1/1/1/1
605/1
Press:
220 /10/10
308/3/3
Pullover Machine:
3 x 25
t-bar
5 x 10 (4 plates)

Monday (today) back at work
Abs - standing weighted crunch 4 x 50
Dumbell Shoulder Press:
66lb /10/10/10
104lb/8/8/8
130lb 5/5/4
Press Behind Neck
132lb 10/10
198lb 5/6/6
Rope Pulls (from floor)
150lb 10/12/12/20(f)
this all felt a bit hard today as I've had a little lay off when I was off work and I think I should have started the dumbell presses at 104lb rather than the 66lb'ers as they were a bit too light. Next time it'll be press first and 'bells second so that's the time for lighter dumbells. The rope pulls felt good, tremendous fatigue in the forearms too.

Deadlift 600+
Squat 500+

you're welcome! It's such a complex lift once the weight starts creeping up. There's loads to concentrate on, I'm trying to fix my traps in place just after the weight is at mid-thigh, this should come after the "squeeze lats" cue.

Tuesday
Abs - Standing Crunch 4 x 50
Glute Machine - 50 reps each leg
Squat - 132/5/5/5/5
220/5/5/5
308/5
418/3
512/1/1/1/1
leg Press 1 x 70 @ 100lb

Had a bit of a mishap on the last squat, I couldn't re-rack my right side properly as I was squatting in socks (left my boots at home) so I was in between the positions on the gun rack. Basically I got one side on and had to shrug the other side up. Result - some sort of pull in my serratus which is making breathing painfull. Also my heels are hurting, moral of this story don't squat without boots.

Hi Jim, hope that pull is nothing big.

A question here - I see that you did leg press at low weights & very high reps - 70 is just too many. What is the particular reason for doing this?

It's a mobility thing rather than a lifting thing. I have steel pins holding my knees together from an accident years ago which gives me all sorts of problems with blood flow and nerves not working very well. I used to get on the stationary bike after squats to work on mobility or I seize up, but I use the leg press instead now.

Thursday:
Abs 5x10 Heavy standing Crunch
Chins -50 reps (didn't count sets)
Squats
220/10/10/10
308/16
418/1/2/1
Dips 25/20/20/15
Dumbell Preacher Curls (50lb's) 10/10/8/8

Feeling piss@d after that, not happy with the squats at all. the bar felt welded to the rack and my back was hurting all the way through. The plan was to get 308 for 20+ not 16. It might be coming back to work after a holiday and not getting much sleep this week or it might be just that I've had the legs of an old woman grafted on while I wasn't looking.
Anyway I just punished myself with a salad for lunch washed down with water not beer.
