I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

Forgot my notebook today...very helpful having this training log. Just pulled it up on my phone and could see what weights I should be working at.

Bench Press
45lbs 1x10
65lbs 1x5
95lbs 1x5
110 5x5 The last few reps were nowheres near explosive so I'll keep this weight the next time, see if I can do better.

Squats
45lbs 1x10
115 1x5
135 1x5
155 1x5
165 1x5
185 5x4,4,3,3,3 Still SO heavy! Will try again on Monday. So strange having DOMS in my back...never had it there before but have it ALL the time now. My lower lats are so painful if any pressure is put on them :( Ironically, these are the very spots my kids enjoy tackling me on!

Barbell Row
45lbs 1x10
65 1x5
75 5x5 Go figure...this felt light today. Focused on squeezing my upper back/shoulder blades together and could feel it today.

Box Squats
Aerobic Step, 5 risers, just to parallel
45lbs 3x10
These feel good...ready to try them with more weight. I no longer "plop" onto the bench, realized I have to stand closer to the bench. Probably not as graceful as Dave Tate, but close enough. No problem keeping everything tight as I touch down (at least at this weight)!

Push Ups 8,4,7 Not in the mood!

Rev Crunch 3x12, on floor, no counterweight

**Have to get running this weekend**

Have a good weekend everyone!

Kathy, you're strong.

Can't for the life of me do the reverse crunches with no counterweight. Well done!

I am very impressed by your numbers - 185lbs squat is heavy! BP looks great too.

Those numbers are looking great.

DOMS in the back :) Welcome to 'heavy' squats. It's different hearing that squats are a full body workout and then feeling it, isn't it. Are your shoulders so from it yet?

Keep it up.

Thanks everyone. It is so encouraging to hear your words :D I don't feel overly strong yet. I think I have 225lbs squats and 135lbs bench as "milestones" in the back of my mind. Only because they look cool

G - do you get back DOMS too? I was starting to worry that I hurt my back but it is definitely muscle ache. AND it is my entire back from where the bar sits on the upper back all the way down (on either side of my spine) to my lower back. AND it's all the time now...was just outside weeding in the squat position and my back is really sore now. Which is why I want to start incorporating box squats...want to be really sure I have good form as the back squats get heavy (for me).

How on earth do you do all those squats and then go work on your farm??!! You're inspirational - I would never be able to keep up with everything you have going on!

Oh, yeah, I get and have gotten them. Only when I am at the upper range and one muscle or another is 'weak'. #250 to #255 I really had to work on keeping my back up right, and not good morning the weight. When I good morninged the weight, I had way more DOMS. Basically using muscles not quite as intended. It does lessen in time. And also, not rushing seems to help me. And keeping good form. DOMS doesn't equate to bad form, but bad form can lead to DOMS.

A lot of people seem to tell me they could no keep up with what I do. I just do it. I couldn't do the lifts at the end of the day. Just too tired. Except of course right now I can't fit working out in hardly at all, and that is really annoying. But it will get better.

Keep it up.

Even if you don't GM the weight up, your lower back can be sore after heavy squats. Great job Kathy. I think the box squats will help you out, too.

 I think you're right, goddess! I have been watching too many Dave Tate videos where I see these guys with too many 45lb plates to count on the bar. I compare myself with them!

Thanks rb- I was getting a bit concerned but since you and Gargoyle mention this soreness is normal, I feel much better. I definitely do not GM the weight...I am actually terrified to do that - I figure I will fall flat on my face so I make sure my back angle remains consistent throughout the movement.

I think my new bench press set up is also to blame. I contract my entire body much more tightly than I used to after watching some videos. I don't think my back is used to all that....yet!

Thank you...I actually haven't gone back to look but in just a few short months, my strength is quite a bit more than what it was. I just see how much more I have to go and then realize...I don't think I am ever going to be "done". Have to sit back (well, more like squat low) and enjoy the journey :D

If you compare yourself with others, you'll never measure up. Remember, you have to do this for yourself.

YOU'RE DOING AN AWESOME JOB! That goes for you, as well, PG.
