I really debated about starting a log. This journey gets very personal at times. It's hard to announce to the world things you didn't even want to admit to yourself. But that's why I did it. It needed to be right in front of me so I could deal with it head on. And I needed support to get through it. Who would have thought I'd find that here of all places. But I did. These guys have been a great help and encouragement through some tough times for me and they probably don't even realize it. - Pagangoddess

true that!

Btw, happy birthday! and the next time when there's something to celebrate, a 20xübermid?? ;)

anyway, no more school for me - master's degree is enough. I now officially hate writing anything longer than 2 pages and will hopefully never do that again. hunting for a job at the moment...not as easy as I thought, but will manage sooner or later...

Thu. Sep. 10/09

Squats: 105kg 5x5
OHP: 42.5kg 5x5, 50kg 3x5
DL: 135kg 1x5, 115kg 1x5
Chins: 10/5/6
CR: 165lb 15x5
AWR: 187cm 5x5
BW: 194lb / 88.18kg

Squats: The DOMS kicked in yesterday afternoon so the inner thighs were a little tight today and the power wasn't all there. Got through these okay, though.
OHP: Nice to be able to pull off the 50kg 3x5. Gotta keep up with the example set by Bflo.
DL: Powered through these with no trouble.
Chins: Ugh. Second and third sets were a bit rushed and suffered. Got to get back up to my previous numbers here.
AWR: Solid. I have to confess that I LOVE being able to do these. And my wife loves it when my abs show through my shirt

@Bflo: Thanks, pal. You set a hard act to follow.
@Helm: It was a great birthday (grilled duck breast for dinner with a Napa Valley pinot noir) but a 20x pyramid is not on the charts yet ;) I am starting to think about a higher-cardio workout for when I'm at the two-year point (January).
@Simon: Thanks! It was worth it just for these comments :D
@MJH: Thanks, Mike. Thank goodness my butt could cash the cheque my mouth wrote!
@GKW: The DOMS wasn't too bad, actually. A bit tight about 36 hours later, especially in the inner thighs (adductors? abductors?), but the foam roller helped. Squats are also really good for getting rid of the squat-caused DOMS. Like the "hair of the dog".

Same here
In the combo SL Advanced/Coan-Phillipi I replaced TGUs on Day 3 by Ab-wheel rollouts.
That should make me do them at least once a week.

Sat. Sep. 12/09

Squats: 110kg 5x5
BP: 65kg 5x5, 80kg 3x5
PC: 47.5kg 5x5
BBR: 57.5kg 3x5
Dips: 20/12/7*
AWR: 189cm 5x5
BW: 193lb / 87.72kg

BP: Nice to get the heavy sets without trouble after the 5x5.
BBR: Haven't done these in a LONG time. Felt great.
Dips: Something felt wrong in my R shoulder on the third set so I stopped. Trying to get 3x20 here but looks like it will be a ways off.

@Helm and H: Yeah, if you can find a natural place to get the AWR into your w/out the results will come quickly. I really think it is a worthwhile one to keep doing.

Great workouts KIB, as usual. The ubermid is especially impressive. You're certainly not one to take a challange lightly, even if it is thrown in fun.

Happy Birthday Keith. Just reminds me how close we are in age. I'll be following you to the 42 mark in roughly a month's time.

Happy belated birthday Keith!
Took me about 20mins to try and catch up with your blog! (had skimmed it).
Are you thinking of straying away from the SL path?

Squats: 5x40/50/60/70/80/90/100/110/120/110/100/90/80/70kg, 10x60kg

Big squat pyramid today. I was happy that I still had lots in the tank for the DLs.
Tried to do the AWRs without touching the wall at the far end of the rep. Much harder.

You did all those exercises after the 80 squats? Where do you get all that energy from? & how much time it takes you in the gym?

This is a mental workout! Keep up the good work. How long do you do the pyramids for? Are these something that you do in between cycles of other programs?
